Luke 13:6-9 (reconsidered)
Jesus of Nazareth taught this parable.

A man had a fig tree* planted* in his vineyard*. One day, he appeared seeking* fruit* throughout* his tree but found none.

So, the man said to the vinedresser* of his vineyard, “Look! For three years* I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and have found none. Cut it down! Why is it entirely idle* in the ground*?
The gardener said to him, “Sir, forgive* the tree this year as well. Leave the tree alone awhile until I at least dig around it and fertilize*.”
“Though, if indeed it does bear* fruit, but not continually after that, do you intend to cut down* your own tree?

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Leviticus 27:30 (KJV)
All the tithe of the land, whether from the seed of the land, or from the fruit of the tree, it is the LORD’S. It is holy to the LORD.
Deuteronomy 20:19-20 (KJV)
When you besiege a city for an extended time, in making war against it to take it, you shalt not destroy the trees by forcing an axe against them: for you may eat of them, and you shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man’s life) to employ them in the siege. Only the trees which you know that they be not trees for meat, you shalt destroy and cut them down; and you shalt build bulwarks against the city that make war with them, until it be subdued.
Zechariah 3:10 (KJV)
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
Psalm 1:3 (KJV)
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.
Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)
The fruit (reward) of the righteous is (a tree of) life; and winning (seizing, snatching, taking) souls is wise.
Matthew 7:15-20 (KJV)
Beware of pseudo-prophets (lairs, deceitful, wicked, untrue), who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening (extortionist) wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do you gather grapes of thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every good tree brings forth good fruit and every corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.
Mark 13:28-29 (KJV)
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

Isaiah 5:1-7 (KJV)
Walk along with me, my friend, and I will sing you a song of love for a vineyard (garden). Friend, my beloved, anointed son has a vineyard on a hill. He fenced it in with gathered stones and planted it with choice vines. He built a strong tower in the midst of it, and carved a wine press therein. Then, he twisted the vines together and waited for the vines to bring forth ripe grapes (to bear fruit), but the vines brought forth poison berries. Oh, those who make their home in Jerusalem, and men of Judah, why have you condemned (pronounce judgement) my vineyard. What more could I have done for my vineyard, that I have not already done? I waited to collect the ripe grapes, but the vines brought forth poison berries. Now, I understand what was done to my vineyard and what needs to be done now. Take down the hedges and burn it. Break down all the walls and tread them under foot. My vineyard will be a place of desolation; un-pruned and un-hoed with thorns and weeds coming up at will. I will command the clouds that they not rain upon it. The vineyard of Jehovah, the God who provides abundance and satisfaction, is the house of Israel. The men of Judah delight in planting, twisting (binding) together, abiding together and proclaiming righteousness.

More teaching by Jesus on the Vine and the Vineyard.
John 15:1-8 (reconsidered)
I am the truthful vine and my Father is the vine-dresser (farmer, husbandman). Every branch in me that bears no fruit, the vine-dresser (farmer, husbandman) removes and every branch that bears fruit the vine-dresser (farmer, husbandman) cleans, prunes and purges it so it may bear more fruit. You have already been cleansed by the words which I have spoken to you. Remain close within me and I will remain close within you. Just as a branch would never be able to bear fruit by itself, unless it remains within the vine. Likewise, neither can you, unless you remain within me. I am the vine, you are the branch. Remain within me and I will remain within you (yourself). This relationship will bear plenteous fruit. Remember, though, separate (distance) from me and you will bear nothing (no fruit).
If any man continues not within me, put him outside like a strange branch; to mature or dry up or wither away. Then, gather them, and cast them into the fire to burn. Whosoever remains within me, and my words remain within you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done (to, by, with) you. By this my Father is glorified; that you bear much fruit and likewise, become my disciples.
