Reconsider: Rushing

“Wise men say, only fools rush in, but I can’t help falling in love with you.”

Elvis Presley

Rushing is life. We don’t know how to live any other way. We rush through coffee in the morning and rush the kids off to school. We rush to meetings and if we eat lunch, we rush. Then, we rush home to rush dinner and fall in bed exhausted. We rush so much we forget we are rushing. And we forget how to love. Rushing fools we have become.

The rushing way seems right to us at first. After all, we have lots of important things to do but somewhere down the rushing path we realize it is leading us to solitude, illness and early death. Can we stop the fate that lies before us? Can we slow down? Can we remember how to love? Yes, we can. We can reconsider our course.

Reconsidering is rethinking. Reconsidering is changing your mind and changing course. With eyes open and our minds retracing our steps, better paths, maybe paths yet unknown, can emerge from the blur. We can slow down. We can heal. And the love we seek can and will find us.

Are you ready to stop playing a fool?
